If we want to change something about our life we are much more likely to have success if we start small rather than pledge to make a drastic and unrealistic change. Micro habits are minuscule adjustments to our daily routine. They take only a few minutes to do, ask very little of us and lead to changes that become habits.

Link a new micro habit to something that you do already to act as a trigger.

Two minutes of stretches in bed before I get up if my goal is to move my body more.

Tell my child 3 things I appreciate about them at bedtime each night if my goal is a closer relationship.

Turn off all of my devices at meal times if my goal is to psychologically detach from work.

Whatever it is, micro habits really work. What tiny act can you start today?
